Silke and new neighbours - Pauline and Stewart

A little late, but we have our reasons ... ! We have been busy having visitors, so I hope we will be excused.

The week started with three holidays which was spent with friends, at the pool and baking. It was really nice to have time for ourselves and, at least for me, great to be able to relax completely. Thursday we picked up our neighbor from Sweden, Silke, and her sister from the airport. 2nd time lucky as we had been at the airport the day before as well due to some mix-up of dates ! After a few days of recovery from the flight, we got ready for a weekend of action. Unfortunately I had to work until noon Saturday, so we got a bit of a late start. Still, we were able to fit in a visit to the tombs in Gyeong-Ju and Bulguksa Temple. Sunday was even busier ... We managed to fit 3 sights into our schedule as we went to Seongnamsa Temple, Paraeso Waterfall and Tongdosa Temple. It's all too much to tell in words, so I'll let the photos speak for themselves ...

We missed Chile's independence day but we were not going to miss the empanadas. We spent one whole afternoon cooking, but it was all worth it !

Our new neighbors, Pauline and Stuart have been good at keeping our spirit up. Monday we were invited for an excellent dinner at their place.

Peo is at this point in time still happily unaware that visitors soon will invade her room !

Paula, Silke and Berit at the tombs in Gyeong-Ju. This photo is taken outside the main park, where the tombs are about double size.

The girls drinking soyu - the Korean schnapps. You can tell they are enjoying it !

Silke and a typical Korean dog. They come in purple, pink, blue, green and yellow ! Sometimes they wear socks when they leave home, though you mostly see them being carried everywhere.

The colors of the roofs in Seongnamsa Temple are spectacular.

Paula valiantly fighting her vertigo ... on the way to Paraeso waterfall.

The waterfall was beautiful as always.

Paula and me at the entrance to Tongdosa Temple.

A few remains of Buddha are supposedly stored here.

On the way to Tongdosa we came across the first cemetery we have seen here in Korea. It was enormous ! This is only half of it (everything which is not forest is cemetery).

Aqui vimos nuestro primer cementerio .

Typical Korea landscape ...
