Our Korea Diary - May 13th 2007
Praise yourselves lucky that you hear from me in writing and don't listen to/see me live, as I am a pitiful sight at the moment. 3-4 days ago I ran into a rather dusty inspection at the shipyard, which triggered my dust allergy, which again triggered a sore throat and total congestion. Now I'm over the sore throat but am stuck with a massive party up my nose (and I'm not invited). It puts a little damper on the adventurous part of me, so this weekend has been a quiet one - we went out to eat with my collegues yesterday and today we took a trip down to the beach one hour south of here, accidentally came accross a place to buy flowers and ended up with a jungle on the back seat !
Wednesday we went to the new foreigners compound for a potluck dinner. We were about 30 people of all kinds of nationalities, and the food was out of this world. My danish meat balls were one of the least exotic dishes that day !
Aqui va el "reporte" como cada domingo. Esta semana Peder ha estado medio resfriado y la verdad mucho no hemos salido. El pobre esta con alergia y todo ,asique esperemos que se le pase en estos dias .
El miercoles fuimos al Compound de extranjeros para una comida ; la idea era que cada pareja llevara algo tradicional de su pais , por supuesto mis dotes culinarios no dan para tanto, asique Peder hizo fricandelas danesas. La mayoria de los platos fueron muy ricos y lo pasamos bien comiendo y conociendo comidas de distintos paises.

Paula has started taking painting classes, and this is her first piece of art ! We still need to select a photo for the frame.

My colleagues saturday night at The Black Sheep. The food was excellent though my pork cutlet looked a lot like chicken curry !!
El sabado salimos a comer con los companeros de oficina de Peder. La comida fue super rica , aunque Peder pidio costillas de chancho y aparecio un Pollo al curry ! solo en corea pasan estas cosas.
Never play darts with a group of sailors ! Now I know how they spend their spare time on the ships...
Nunca juegues a los dardos con Marineros ! Ahora sabemos que hacen en el tiempo libre en los barcos...

Here's Paula at Ganjeolgot Point - the point of the earliest sunrise on the northeast Asian continent ... do I need to say that we missed it ? It's about 1 hour south of where we live and a very pretty place. Full of people of course.
Aqui estamos en Ganjeolgot ; aqui es el 1er amanecer en el nor este del continente Asiatico...no necesitamos decir que no alcanzamos a verlo .......Este lugar queda a 1 hora al sur de donde vivimos. Estaba lleno de gente , a los coreanos les encanta salir los domingos a hacer caminatas y salir de su cuidad .

Windsurfers at Jin Ha beach. Last week there was an international windsurf competition here, but unfortunately there was very little wind the day I went. Today was a better day for windsurfing, but I didn't feel up for it. At least now I know where to go and where to rent equipment.
Aqui vemos windsurfistas ( o como se diga ) en la Playa de Jin Ha. El fin de semana pasado habia aqui un mundial de windsurf , pero lamentablemente no hubo mucho viento. Hoy dia estaba especial para hacer windsurf, pero Peder no se sentia bien como para hacerlo, igual ya sabemos donde arriendan el equipo, asique para la proxima vez sera !

Aqui yo estilo Coreana en la playa de Jin ha. La mayoria de las mujeres usan estos paraguas de verano para protejerse del sol ! Son bien utiles , estoy feliz con el mio.
