Our Korea Diary - October 28th
Paula's week
This week Paula will tell a bit about her life here in Korea:
I start the week off with yoga classes on Mondays at 9:30. The classes, which run for one hour, are conducted by a Korean girl Pil, whom I have made friends. The classes are in Korean, so hopefully I will learn both yoga and some local language ! After yoga I return home and eat lunch with Peder. At 15:30 I'm off again - this time for painting classes. We paint on rice paper for two hours and have great fun doing it. Below you can find photos of two of my paintings, which I had framed last week. They are now hanging in our living room.
Tuesday morning it's back to yoga and lunch with Peder. The afternoon is free but often I go to the supermarket or meet up with some friends.
Wednesday we have "coffee morning" at the new foreigners compound. Many of the expat wives meet here to talk, gossip and plan the week. I am in charge of this event, which basically involves stocking up on coffee and cakes and arrange it so that there are two volunteers every week to set up the tables and make the coffee. We start at 10 and finish at 11:30. At 13:00 I go for Korean lessons and that's Wednesday gone !
Thursday I go for yoga again and later I play Mah Jong at the old foreigners compound. We are around 7 girls who play and chat for a couple of hours every week. We always have good fun ! Nicola and I normally meet up after the game for Spanish lessons, so I don't get back home until 18:30.
Fridays are without a schedule. That doesn't mean that I do nothing ! Something always comes up and if not, I'm happy to stay home with Peo ..
Weekends I spend with Peder. It is quite normal not to arrange anything among the wives on the weekends, as these are reserved for family time. We have recently been a bit lazy and haven't gone on so many trips in the weekends, but I'm sure we'll get into the rhythm again soon.
The latest news is that Renata and I will go to Hong Kong on Tuesday for 4 days. You will hear all about it next week !

Y aqui vamos otra semana en Corea. Ya han pasado 7 meses desde que estamos aqui . Esta semana les contare un poco de mis dias .
Los lunes parto la semana con mis clases de Yoga. La clase es a las 09.30 por una hora. La profesora es una coreana amiga mia , se llama Pil y la clase es por supuesto en Coreano ...les digo aprendere este idioma como sea. Luego vuelvo almorzar con Peder y a las 15.30 parto a mis clases de Pintura coreana por dos horas . Es pintura en papel de arroz, super entretenido , hoy les podre mostrar dos de mis obras maestras ya enmarcadas .
Los martes tengo Yoga a las 09.30 nuevamente y luego no tengo nada especial , asique lo dejo para las cosas como supermercado, salir a con las chicas o simplemente quedarme en la casa con la Peo.
Los miercoles es el "coffee morning" , nos juntamos algunas de las mujeres Expats a conversar , copuchar o darnos datos. Soy la encargada asique basicamente me tengo que preocupar de comprar cafe, galletitas y ver que haya siempre dos voluntarias para hacer el cafe. Es a las 10.00 y dura hasta las 11.30 ; Luego de 13.00 a 15.00 tengo clases de coreano.
Los Jueves tengo Yoga nuevamente y a las 13.00 tengo Mah Jong . Somos un grupo de mas o menos 7 que jugamos como 2 horas , lo pasamos re bien . Y generalmente despues de jugar me voy a casa de Nicola ,mi amiga escosesa para hacerle clases de Español, asique vuelvo a casa tipo 18.30.
Los viernes no tengo nada programado , pero siempre sale algo. Ademas ahora con los dias mas feos se planean mas cosas, como viajes a Busan , una cuidad a 1,15 hora en tren , donde generalmente vamos a comprar cosas. Es mucho mas grande que Ulsan ...se siente mas cuidad !
Los fines de semana no programo nada porque salimos con Peder
Ahora les cuento que el Martes parto a Hong Kong por 4 dias con Renata , una señora de un compañero de Peder , muy amorosa , asique ahi estaremos ! ya les contare la otra semana que tal el viaje. Peder feliz que no tiene que ir , no le gustan las cuidades grandes , claro me salio medio huaso el hombre !

Veronique Bailando en la fiesta el martes. Notese que esta de 7 meses de embarazo , ya pensabamos que tendria la guagua en la fiesta. Veronique se fue hoy domingo de regreso a Inglaterra.
The party was held at Café Lime and we had a great time until our beds called out for us.
El Martes fue el cumpleaños de Carolina y hizo una fiesta en el cafe Lime , el lugar de las chicas. Aqui una foto de la fiesta.
Wednesday we held a goodbye lunch for Vanessa, who left for Huston Friday. Magoe , Pil ( mi profe de Yoga ), Vanessa , Minsu , Yo y Melissa.
El Miercoles hicimos un Almuerzo de despedida para Vanessa que se devuelve a Houston el viernes. Magoe , Pil ( mi profe de Yoga ), Vanessa , Minsu , Yo y Melissa.

Friday another goodbye lunch. This time for Veronique and Stephanie, who are off to England and France.
El viernes hicimos un almuerzo de despedida para Stephanie y Veronique que se van a Francia e Inglaterra esta semana. Aqui vemos a Stephanie de chaleco rojo, Chrisitan al lado tambien se vuelve a Francia esta semana.
My first painting has been framed. I am pleased with the result !!!

Saturday we went for the Halloween party at the new foreigners compound. It was pretty empty there, as a lot of people have already left, but we still had a good time. Here with Mark, Jill, Pill. Peder grew his hair !!!
El sabado fuimos a la fiesta de Halloween organizado por el New foreigners compound. Una pena que no fue tanta gente, pero lo pasamos muy bien. Aqui vemos a Mark , Jill , Pil y Peder de pelo largo !
